July 2025

Monthly 24hour Adoration will take place on Friday 25th 12noon to Sunday 26th 12 noon.

Church Refurbishment The conrtractors have started work in the church, some disruption to our routine can be expected over the coming weeks. Starting from Monday July 21st, daily mass will not be in the main church, instead it will be in the nun’s side chaple on the right hand side of the church.

Road Closure A full road closure on Sunday 13th July 9.30am – 11.30am. No traffic will be allowed from Killiane Crosee to Sweeney’s betwen 10am -11.30am please use an alternate route.

Friends of St. Pio Rosary – The monthly St. Pio rosary will take place in St. Mary’s Chruch Sunday 13th July @3.30. Afterwards St. Pio’s glove will be available for who ever wishes to be blesed.

There will be week day mass this week 07th -10th July at 10am

Congratulation to our commissuined Lay Ministers who celebrated a “Service of the Word & Holy Communion” on the 1st of July, a first for out parish. Ideally, we would of course wish to celebrate Mass and Euchrist every day, Deacon Paul said but when this is not possible we should remember that where 2 or 3 are gathered in his name, Christ will be there too.

Monthly 24 hour adoration The monthly 24 hour adoration will place in St. Mary’s Church on Friday 27th June from 12noon to Saturday 28th June 12noon

Lourdes 2025 An information meeting for everyone travelling to Lourdes 01st July 2025 are invitied on the 25th June 2025 in The Parish Centre Edenderry at 7.30pm

From the 16th of June daily masse only be on Monday’s and Wednesday’s and the First Friday of each Month. Service of the word will remain on Fridays

The recent hosting of the XXVI Columbanus Day Celebrations was a great success, There is a short reflection on https://www.kandle.ie/reflectiion-on-xxvi-columbanus -day-2025.

Sunday 13th 10.30 in the Cathedral of the Assumption, Carlow. Bishop Nulty will celebrate St. Columbanus day Mass, this can be viewed on the parish website

Saturday 12th July A gathering of reflection, music and song, celebrating the legacy of Saint Columbanus. Full programme details on https://kandle.ie

Saturday 12th July is the feast day of St, Louis & St. Zelie Martin – the parents of St. Therese of Lisieux. It is the 10th anniversary of their canonisation. We will be having a special Mass at 10am celebrated by Bishop Tom Deenihan (Bishop Of Meath). Relics avaiable for veneration from 11am-9.30pm with another Mass being held at 7pm. We will also have an exhibition of historical items from the lilfe of St. Therese and the Martin family from 11-9.30pm entry is free, this is all taking place at the Carmelite Church Kildare Town, White Abby, R51 K379

Knock

The diocesan pilgrimage to Knock takes place this year on Sunday 2nd June. Bishop Denis Nulty will celebrate Mass in the Basilica at 3pm.

Fatima

Fatima in Portugal, is a renowned place of Pilgrimage home to one of the World’s most famous Shrines dedicated to the Virgin Mary. Located north of Lisbon, the Shrine is the site of events of 1917 in which 3 children, Lucia and her cousins Jacinta and Francisco, witnessed apparitions of the Virgin Mary on 13th May 1917 and on the 13 day of the 5 following months.

Padre Pio

San Giovanni, Italy – Shrine of Padre Pio.

The Annual St Pio Pilgrimage to Holycross Abbey takes place on Sunday 28th May.  A bus will leave the square, Edenderry at 9.15am. Limited number of seats available. For details and booking Contact Pat at 086-8447326
